How to Prepare for English Comprehension for SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam?

English language is very challenging section as it involves the understanding and proficiency. Understanding and acquiring proficiency in a language which is not our national language makes the road difficult for those who are not good in English right from the school times.

English is an important part of  SSC CGL Exam as it covers two tiers. Tier 1 and Tier 2 , tier 1 is of 50 marks and tier 2 is of 200 marks. Those who are good in English languages only needs to know the exam pattern in which they should practice. Those who are not good in English it is very important for them to make a study strategy to master the language.

Steps to attain proficiency in English to crack SSC CGL Exam

Start with the basic rules of grammar and practice each one by taking at least 50 questions to master the concept.
  1. Focus on the vocabulary to understand the language flow and learning new words.
  2. After attaining confidence in the grammar rules practice the exam pattern questions. To start with take the error detection topic first. It needs strong hold on the grammar rules. Then switch over to sentence improvement.
  3. Learn vocabulary topics such as idioms and phrases, one word substitution, antonym and synonyms.
  4. Learn the rules related to Narration and voice and practice according to the difficulty level of the examination.
  5. Instead of mugging up the rules related to grammar, try to use in your daily life to master them. It will clear your usage doubts in English language.
  6. Improve your English language by generating interest in reading newspapers and novels and improve your vocabulary.
  7. Practice reading comprehension questions from various previous year question papers. It will improve your usage flow and proficiency in English language.
  8.  Revise difficult words daily to remember till the examination day.
  9. Rate your performance on daily basis and improve your language. Revise the weak topics and practice immensely.
These are some of the tips which will help you enhance your English language usage and proficiency. Although joining SSC COAHING IN HYDERABAD or elsewhere will help you achieve proficiency in all the sections but English is a must to get through all the phases of SSC CGL Exam.
