Effective study plan to prepare for General English section of SSC CGL 2018 EXAM tier 1

English is a very scoring section in SSC CGL Exam. Prepare it effectively to get a comfortable ride in the examination hall. The difficulty level is not that high that it cannot be understood by the higher secondary level students also. The exam pattern is different than that of the school times. Let us discuss the study plan to prepare for the exam to get proficiency in the language section.

Study Plan for SSC CGL General English Section
  1. Give special focus to prepare topics like RC, Cloze passage, par jumbles and fill in the blanks as most of the questions cover these topics.
  2. Read newspapers and magazines regularly with a special focus on the structure of the sentence, words, tenses, verbs, and various related figure of speech. It will enhance your accuracy level up to 100 per cent.
  3. Improve your speed of reading to save time in doing Reading Comprehension. Also learn the tricks to understand the theme and finding the answers of RC.
  4. Mark the answer carefully and be sure of the accuracy as each error is marked negative.
  5. Make a study plan and follow it religiously.
  6. Attempt at least 50 questions on each topic
  7. In case you are not comfortable with any topic then take the help of the book or watch any you tube channel lecture on the topic to clear your doubts.
  8. Maintain accuracy and speed by taking up topic tests on regular basis.
  9. Topics like one word substitution, antonym synonyms, etc., which is vocabulary based can be prepared by going through previous year question papers. Most of the time these are repeated.
  10. Make a list of difficult words with related antonyms to understand the basic usage and meaning of the words.
