Why SSC CHSL 2019 exam will be a big challenge for candidates?

Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level (SSC CHSL) is very popular competitive exam because it gives opportunity to candidates to enjoy the facilities of Government services at a very early age. It is one of the biggest competitive exams conducted in India because a large number of applicants compete for Government jobs.

Despite the fact that the syllabus is familiar and is of 12th Class level, it is still one of the toughest competitive exams to crack.

Why SSC CHSL 2019 will be e big challenge for candidates?

The first basic reason will be that it demands highest level of accuracy and swift speed of answering questions. For many students, the exam may look simpler, as syllabus looks familiar but the difficulty levels of questions is very high. After properly scrutinizing the exam pattern and syllabus of SSC CHSL 2019 exam, we can sum up many factors and aspects that make it one of the challenging exams for the candidates.

Let us discuss the facts in detail: -
  1. Highest level of Competition
According to records and analysis, in SSC CHSL 2017-18 exams, there were around 30 million applicants and this figure is likely to rise every year. Due to huge number of aspirants, the completion as well as cut-off marks for SSC CHSL 2019 will be predictably highest. Likewise, it is directly proportional to the number of vacancies, which is very low (5134 for SSC CHSL 2017-18), as compared to the number of appearing candidates. Lastly, to qualify, the candidates have to score sectional cut-off as well as overall cut-off marks. The cut-off marks increases every year and so the target to qualify also increases.
  1. Lengthy Process of Selection
The recruitment drive of SSC CHSL 2019 will be conducted in three tiers-
Tier-1: Written exam- Objective type- 100 Questions- 200 Marks-Online Mode
Tier-2: Written exam- Descriptive type- 100 Marks-Offline Mode
Tier-3: Skill test- Typing test

The final merit list is prepared, if and only if, the candidate clears all the 3 tiers successfully. The selection process is lengthy and every Tier has to be accomplished successfully. It tests candidate’s patience, determination and spirit of competitiveness at every level of selection.
  1. Enormous and wide-spread Syllabus to Cover
In SSC CHSL 2019 exam, the candidate’s will be tested in four subjects namely Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, English Language and General Awareness. The syllabus for every subject is very elaborate and detailed. In a span of 4 to 5 months, it’s a difficult task to cover the entire syllabus, as candidates have to thoroughly learn and understand basics of every topic. Despite all efforts, the question paper is very meticulously prepared as it tends to test candidate’s analytical, reasoning and logical abilities. There are millions of candidates who fail to qualify in their first attempt as they could not plan a proper preparation strategy. So, it is important to pick and choose important topics first and then to prepare them seriously with proper guidance.
  1. Demands lot of accuracy and speed
The candidates should note carefully that there is negative marking in SSC CHSL 2019 exam. It means that you will be penalized for every wrong answer and negative marking will deduct marks from your final merit list. So, it’s important to work on accuracy and stop making will guesses while answering. In SSC CHSL Tier-I exam (objective type test), the candidates will have to solve 100 questions in 1 hour (60 minutes) and that too with full accuracy. It implies that a candidate will have less than a minute to solve a single question. Therefore, the candidates should work hard in enhancing their speed of answering questions. It will boost their confidence and will also be very beneficial for them on the exam day.

SSC CHSL 2019 is difficult exam to crack and so you are required to employ “smart work” by organizing a proper preparation strategy. It is important to work hard on accuracy and speed of answering to qualify this exam.

All the Best!!!
